Led by 14 kills each from senior outside attacker Ellie Dunn and junior middle Sydnee VanBeek, the Ball State offense could not be stopped Friday night in a dominating 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-18) sweep of Mid-American Conference West Division rival Northern Illinois in Worthen Arena. The Cardinals (18-6, 9-2 MAC) finished the match with a .374 (48-8-107) attack percentage, tying as its third-best mark of the season, to avenge a Sept. 22 loss to the Huskies (8-18, 8-5 MAC) in DeKalb, Illinois.

The Bowling Green State University volleyball program defeated the Akron Zips for the second time in the 2018 season on Friday, Oct. 26. The Falcons first faced the Zips in late September in their first pair of Mid-American Conference matches. The Falcons will enter their final regular season home match versus Buffalo with an updated record of 15-9 overall, and 9-2 in the MAC.

It was not always pretty, but the Miami University volleyball team was able to put points down when it mattered most as it defeated Buffalo, 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 29-27, 20-25, 15-12), Friday evening inside Millett Hall. The RedHawks improve to 18-5 overall and 10-1 in the Mid-American Conference. The Bulls fall to 13-10 overall and 5-6 in the MAC. Freshman outside hitter Gaby Harper recorded another double-double to lead Miami in the victory. She had a team-high 17 kills and also added 20 digs. Junior middle hitter Margaret Payne came up big late with four kills in the fifth set. She had 11 for the match. Sophomore libero Abigail Huser led the RedHawks defensively, recording 27 of the team's 83 total digs.

Toledo 3, Western Michigan 2 // Box Score
It took five sets, but the University of Toledo women's volleyball team triumphed over Western Michigan on Friday night in a critical Mid-American Conference match. The Broncos won the first and third sets handily, while the Rockets took sets two and four. UT grabbed a significant early lead in the decisive fifth frame, but had to fight off a few late points from Western Michigan before sealing the deal to improve to 4-7 in MAC play.
