MAC Women's Swimmer of the Week
Katelyn Burns, University at Buffalo

Junior, West Henrietta, NY (Rush Henrietta)            
 
Placed first in five events in the Bulls victory over Ivy League opponent Cornell, collecting three individual wins in the 100 yard freestyle (50.92), 200 yard freestyle (1:52.58) and 50 yard freestyle (23.54) events. Also claimed victory in the 400 yard freestyle relay (3:33.26) and 200 yard freestyle relay (1:33.77) events.

Senior Artur Osvath was a main contributor in Missouri State's dominating 146-91 win over crosstown rival Drury, registering two individual decisions and a team win. Osvath dazzled in the 200 IM (1:48:75), touching the wall nearly five seconds ahead of the runner-up. The Budapest, Hungary native had a quick event turnaround, taking the 200 Butterfly (1:47.44) by a margin of seven seconds. He also swam a leg of the men's victory in the 400 medley relay (3:17.78).

Ranked 22nd nationally in 100-breast. The event was the first of his collegiate career.
 
Lisa Eriksson, Toledo  
Sophomore, Strangnas, Sweden       
 
Sophomore sprinter Lisa Eriksson was integral to Toledo’s opening tri-meet sweep this weekend. The Strangnas, Sweden native took home individual victories in the 50-yard free (24.20) and 100-yard free (52.91) events. Eriksson also contributed to the Rockets’ winning the 200-yard free relay. The team swam the event in 1:37.83 thanks to Eriksson’s 23.71 split. In total, all of Eriksson’s times were within a second of her personal record.
 
 
Nicole Swartz, Eastern Michigan University 
Senior, Dayton, Ohio (Centerville)    
 
EMU senior Nicole Swartz led the way for the Eagles in their season-opening win over Denison at Jones Natatorium in Ypsilanti, Mich., Saturday, Oct. 20. The Dayton, Ohio native earned individual wins in her specialty, the distance events, out-swimming the competition in the 200 Freestyle (1:54.84), 500 Free (4:58.93), and 1000 Free (10:09.72). Swartz’s 1000 Free finish clocked in more than 17 seconds ahead of the field of competition, while her 500 Free mark was 10 seconds faster than the next finisher. Her efforts helped the Green and White cruise to victory over the Big Red, 156-133.
