Senior Ben Sattler tied for eighth place with a 220 (+4) to lead the way for the Ohio men's golf team at the 2018 Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, W. Va., this week. He followed up a first-round 76 (+4) on Monday (Oct. 8) with two rounds of 72 (E) on Tuesday (Oct. 9). Ohio finished in a tie for 12th place with Marshall with a combined team score of 926 (+62). The Bobcats combined to tally a 313 (+25) in the first round on Monday, then carded a 309 (+21) in the second round and a 304 (+16) in the third.

Fighting Irish Classic    
Nikitas finished as Miami's top golfer and shot the second and third round under par. He finished tied for 21st after shooting rounds of 73,  67, and 70.  Nikitas finished the tournament three-under par.

Junior Mitchell McFarland led the Zips scoring at the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational hosted by West Virginia at the at the 7,353-yard, Par 72 Pete Dye Golf Course in Bridgeport, W.Va. He opened the 54-hole event with a 1-over par 73 performance that included 11 pars and three birdies. McFarland’s 1-over effort landed him in the Top 15 in a tie for 14th overall. Second round action was suspended due to darkness and the field was forced to finish 3-5 holes before the final round of competition. McFarland dropped five slots on the player leaderboard after 76 (+4) effort. In the final round, he bounced back with another 1-over par performance, climbing eight spots on the leaderboard and finished with a 222 (+6) tournament total. McFarland completed the 54-hole event ranked tied for 11th overall and recorded 32 par scores and nine birdies.

Top finisher for BGSU (T-13), second straight top finish for BGSU after firing a 72-72-81=225.

Senior  LaSalle, Ontario (St. Thomas of Villanova)  
Fighting Irish Classic    
DeMarco finished the Fighting Irish Classic at even par on Monday, leading the NIU Huskies to it's fourth-best 54-hole score since 1980. The Huskies finished with a one-under par 851 in South Bend. DeMarco tied for 34th overall at even par (69-71-73=213), and was two-under through 36 holes Sunday. Six of his 12 rounds so far this season have been at par or lower.
