Frost and Doseck Named WBB Players of the Week
East Division
Dominique Doseck, Ohio, Guard
Junior – Athens, Ohio/Athens
Junior guard Dominique Doseck led Ohio offensively this past week, averaging 16.5 points per game and grabbing an average of 3.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals a game helping Ohio to a 2-0 week/ Doseck went 11-of-24 (.450) from the field, 4-of-5 (.800) from there free throw line and 7-of-19 from three-point range (.368). Doseck also scored a career-high 27 points on Dec. 31 against Toledo. On Dec. 31 in the MAC opener against Toledo, Doseck was on fire, scoring a career-high 27 points, going 9-of-12 from the field, 5-of-7 from three-point range and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. She also had five rebounds, two assists and one steal in the 78-61 victory. On Dec. 28 against North Carolina A&T, Doseck 2-of-12 from the field in the 72-65 victory.
West Division
Reyna Frost, Central Michigan, Forward
Junior – Reese, Mich./Reese
Central Michigan opened Mid-American Conference play with a 69-65 victory on the road at Ball State on Dec. 30. CMU improved to 9-3 overall. Junior Reyna Frost led the Chippewas with her sixth double-double of the season (23 points, 19 rebounds) and two assists in 40 minutes of play. She went 9-of-12 (75.0%) from the field and 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the free-throw line. The junior is averaging a double-double with 13.5 rebounds and 12.8 points per game.

Mikaela Boyd, Toledo, Guard
Junior – Hillside, Ill./Proviso West
Junior Mikaela Boyd paced three Rockets in double figures with a season-high 20 points, a contest-best 10 rebounds and a game-tying high three steals at Ohio on Sunday to post her second double-double this year and 12th in her collegiate career. Boyd shot 4-of-11 from the field and a career-best 12-of-13 from the charity stripe to surpass the 20-point plateau for her fifth time as a Rocket. Her previous-best effort was nine charity tosses on two occasions, most recently against Northern Illinois in the 2017 MAC Championship Game on March 11. Boyd has now scored at least 10 points in a season-high four-consecutive contests.
Sasha Dailey, Eastern Michigan, Guard
Senior – Toledo, Ohio/Rogers
Senior Sasha Dailey was solid on both ends of the court for Eastern Michigan, Dec. 30, as the Eagles opened Mid-American Conference play against Kent State University. The Toledo, Ohio native racked up 17 points on 8-of-21 shooting, while adding in a season-high eight rebounds. Dailey also tacked on three steals, her sixth straight 3+ theft performance, and an assist in 32 minutes of work.
Lauren Dickerson, Miami, Guard
Sophomore – Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North
Sophomore guard Lauren Dickerson came up big when Miami needed it most on Saturday in the team's MAC opener against NIU. The Indianapolis, Ind. native played a season-low 29 minutes due to foul trouble but found a way to make her impact, scoring 11 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the RedHawks to a 67-65 victory over the Huskies. She also chipped in three rebounds, four assists and three steals. Most importantly, she was 4-of-4 at the line, the latter two makes coming with just three seconds left in the game to put Miami ahead for good.
Jordan Korinek, Kent State, Forward
Senior – Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary
Jordan Korinek scored a game-high 21 points to lead Kent State to its first victory in a conference opener since 2011 Saturday at Eastern Michigan. Korinek pulled down 6 rebounds to help the Flashes to a +13 advantage on the glass and added 3 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal to round out her stat line.
Cassie Oursler, Buffalo, Center
Senior – Grand Island, NY/Grand Island
Senior center Cassie Oursler had a strong start to her final go around in MAC play on Saturday on the road in Akron as she helped UB secure the 89-66 victory over the Zips. Oursler was the Bulls leading scorer as she netted 18 points to go along with a career-high five assists, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal in 29 minutes of work. The senior was able to go 8-for-15 from the floor while also dishing out a career-best five helpers as UB posted 24 assists as a team. With her second block on Saturday, Oursler moved into 10th place on the Bulls all-time blocks list with 100 rejections. She currently paces UB as she is averaging a career-best 13.6 points/game.
Kelly Smith, Northern Illinois, Forward
Senior – Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead
Kelly Smith scored a game-high 21 points in NIU's MAC opener at Miami Saturday, 8-for-14 from the field and 5-of-8 from the free throw line. It was her fourth 20-point scoring effort of the season and 10th double-digit scoring game of the year. The Huskie senior also hauled in nine rebounds
Caitlin Vari, Akron, Forward
Sophomore – Richfield, Ohio/Revere
Caitlin Vari came in off the bench against Buffalo and scored a season-high 10 points in the 2017-18 MAC opener in 20 minutes of action. The Zips forward also grabbed three boards and shot an efficient 4-for-5 from the charity stripe.
Deja Wimby, Western Michigan, Guard
Junior – Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider
After trailing Bowling Green by 11 heading into the fourth quarter, Western Michigan’s junior guard Deja Wimby scored 12 of her game-high and season-high 18 points in the final ten minutes to push the Broncos past the Falcons, 67-58, in the Mid-American Conference opener Saturday afternoon. Of WMU’s 28 points in the final stanza, Wimby did most of her damage from the free-throw line as the Broncos are winners of four straight. The guard went 10-of-16 from the charity strip after the day to go along with eight rebounds and three assists.
