Chippewas Host Heavyweight Missouri Friday
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - It isn't a make-or-break dual, not with the league championship tournament and the national championships still out there. Yet Friday's meet with No. 3-ranked Missouri looms large for the Central Michigan wrestling team. The Chippewas, who entertain Buffalo in a MAC dual on Sunday (2 p.m.), have been on the rise since dropping back-to-back duals -- the first to South Dakota State, the second to North Dakota State -- a month ago. Since that trip, CMU has won its last four duals and finished third in the prestigious Ken Kraft Midlands Championships. CMU is 2-0 in MAC duals. Missouri, a perennial top-10 team, is 14-0, 5-0 MAC.
