MAC Announces Men's Swimming and Diving Preseason Poll

Cleveland, OH – The Eastern Michigan Eagles have been selected by the Mid-American Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving coaches to repeat as MAC regular season champions for the fourth year in a row. The Eagles are also the co-favorite to take the MAC Championship title, receiving three first place votes.
 
The Eagles will look to earn their 35th MAC title this season. Leading the Eastern Michigan swim team is 29-year head coach Peter Linn along with 2016-17 diving coach of the year Buck Smith. In pool, the Eagles will return three All-MAC first team recipients including senior Logan Burton along with juniors Tosh Kawaguchi and Jake Tyson.
 
Missouri State has been selected to finish second in the MAC this season and co-favorites to win the MAC Championship. The Bears will return to the pool with 2016-17 MAC Freshman Swimmer of the Year, Antonio Thomas as well as four other All-MAC first team selections.

The Miami Redhawks captured the third spot in poll with Southern Illinois finishing fourth. Ball State and Evansville round out the bottom of the MAC, being selected to finish fifth and sixth, respectively.
