BG's Cecil and BSU's Washington Named WBB Players of the Week
East Division
Andrea Cecil, Bowling Green, G/F
Sophomore – Oak Harbor, Ohio/Oak Harbor
Bowling Green sophomore G/F Andrea Cecil averaged 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in the Falcons' two games last week. Cecil shot 51.9 percent from the floor, going 14-for-27, and hit 13 of 18 shots from the free-throw line (72.2%). Cecil had a career night on Monday, with her first collegiate double-double in the Falcons' 82-73 win over Ferris State. She had career highs in both points and rebounds, with 26 points and 10 boards in the win. She went 9-for-17 from the floor and also had an assist and a pair of steals. Then, on Thursday night at Cincinnati, she again led the Falcons in scoring, with 16 points, and tied for the team rebounding lead, with eight. Cecil was 5-for-10 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the line against the Bearcats, adding an assist and two blocked shots. She played 37 minutes vs. FSU to tie her career high, then set a new career standard with 38 minutes played against UC. On the season, Cecil is averaging 12.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, ranking second on the team in both categories, and she leads the Falcons in field-goal percentage, free-throw pct. and blocked shots. The Falcons ended the non-conference portion of the schedule with a record of 8-3.
West Division
Destiny Washington, Ball State, Forward
Senior – Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North
Washington began the week with a 25 point, 10 rebound performance against Austin Peay and then closed out the week scoring 15 points and pulling down nine rebounds in a win over Western Kentucky. She helped the Cardinals finish non-conference action with an 11-0 record. Ball State remains one of seven teams nationally that are still undefeated. The last time any Ball State basketball team has completed non-conference action with a perfect record was the men's basketball program in 1988-89.

Jordan Korinek, Kent State, F
Senior – Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary
Jordan Korinek scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to snap host Robert Morris' 5-game winning streak. Korinek helped Kent State to one of the best defensive performances in program history, as the Golden Flashes allowed just 31 points. This is the third-fewest Kent State has ever allowed and tied for the 13th-fewest a Division I school has scored this season. Korinek scored 12 of her points after halftime, nearly matching RMU's 12.
Courtnie Lewis, Eastern Michigan, Guard
Freshman – Belton, Mo./Belton
Freshman Courtnie Lewis pieced together another strong performance to lead Eastern Michigan to its second straight win, Dec. 20. Lewis went off for a career-high 29 points, the most by a freshman since 2014, on 10-of-17 shooting which included 3-of-6 from long range. In addition to going a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe, Lewis added a career-best nine rebounds as EMU improved to 3-0 at home this season.
Kaayla McIntyre, Toledo, Center
Junior – Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy
Junior Kaayla McIntyre averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 blocked shots and 1.0 steals in two games this past week. McIntyre shot a blazing 75.0 percent (12-of-16) from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe in 31.0 minutes in helping Toledo defeat Southern in the second round of the West Palm Invitational on Sunday and Detroit Mercy on Thursday in its non-conference finale. The Toledo native opened the week with 16 points, three caroms, a career-high five helpers and one rejection in 30 minutes against the Jaguars in the "Sunshine State." Three days later against the Titans, the third-year Rocket contributed 14 points, a squad-tying best six boards and two blocks in 32 minutes. She has now scored in double figures in a career-high nine-consecutive games.
Breanna Mobley, Western Michigan, Forward
Junior – Lansing, Mich./Lansing Waverly
Western Michigan's Breanna Mobley scored a game-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds as the Broncos garnered their third straight victory on Tuesday night with an 87-36 win over Goshen College. The forward added a season-high 10 field goals, shooting an astounding 76.9 percent from the floor (10-of-13) in just 20 minutes. Mobley was also just three rebounds shy of recording her sixth double-double of the season in the first quarter.
Stephanie Reid, Buffalo, PG
Senior – Melbourne, VIC, Australia/The Peninsula School
Senior point guard Stephanie Reid had a strong week for the Bulls as she returned from injury. The Australia native was able to net nine points, six assists, two steals and two rebounds on Monday night against Niagara in a Big 4 showdown before capping her week on Thursday with a game-winning play. On Thursday against the No. 14 ranked RPI team in the nation, St. John's, Reid was determined to lead her group to victory and she did as she netted a layup and free throw with five seconds left to lift UB to the 73-72 road victory. Reid finished off her game with a team-high 16 points, five assists and four rebounds as the Bulls closed out their non-conference slate with a 9-2 record. For the week, Reid averaged 12.5 points, 5.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals while leading UB to their biggest road win under head coach Felisha Legette-Jack.
Haleigh Reinoehl, Akron, Forward
Sophomore – Westfield, Ind./Westfield
Haliegh Reinoehl nearly averaged a double-double last week with 9.5 points per game and pulled down 9.5 rebounds per game at the FGCU Hilton Garden Inn Classic. The Zips forward notched her second career double-double against SIU Edwardsville with an 11 point, 10 rebounds performance to help lead the Zips to a 59-58 win over the Cougars. Reinoehl was just short of a second double-double in as many nights after posting eight points and nine rebounds against Harvard.
Mikayla Voigt, Northern Illinois, Guard
Junior – Slinger, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran
Mikayla Voigt averaged 22.0 points per game to help NIU to a 1-1 record in the 2017 Puerto Rico Classic, including a career-high 25 points against Albany. She shot 48.4 percent from the field, including a torrid 60.0 percent from three-point land, hitting 12-of-20 from long range. The Huskie junior opened the week with a 19-point, four-assist effort as she helped lead NIU to an 84-76 win over Sacramento State. Voigt was 6-of-12 from the field, including 5-of-9 from three-point territory, and added a pair of free throws. In NIU's second game of the tournament, Voigt led all scorers with a career-high 25 points, 17 coming in the first half. She went 9-of-19 from the field, including 7-of-11 from three-point territory, also career bests. Voigt hit a three pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
