Dickerson And Moore Named Women's Basketball Players of the Week
East Division
Lauren Dickerson, Miami, Guard
Sophomore – Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North
Sophomore guard Lauren Dickerson was a key catalyst in Miami going 2-1 this past week. The Indianapolis, Ind. native averaged 21.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 6.0 apg. She began the week by tying her season-high with 26 points to go with six rebounds in a win over Valparaiso on Tuesday. On Friday at Loyola Marymount, Dickerson went off for 26 points behind seven three-pointers. She also served up eight assists. She saved her most balanced game of the week for Saturday against Denver in a 17-point victory. Dickerson flirted with a triple-double by posting 14 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
West Division
Tinara Moore, Central Michigan, Forward
Senior – Southgate, Mich./Southgate Anderson
Central Michigan won the Junkanoo Jam Bimini Division championship over Thanksgiving weekend after posting a 2-0 record. The Chippewas improved to 4-1 overall on the season and have won four straight. Senior Tinara Moore led CMU both offensively and defensively as she averaged 21.0 points per game and 15.0 rebounds. Moore went 16-of-24 (66.7%) from the field and 10-of-13 (76.9%) from the free throw line. The senior garnered six blocks and two assists over the two games. Moore recorded a double-double (27 points, 19 rebounds) with two blocks in an 85-76 overtime victory over San Diego State in the opening game of the tournament on Friday, Nov. 24. The Southgate, Mich. native shot 11-of-16 (68.8%) from the field versus the Aztecs. The following day, Moore posted another double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) in an 81-60 win over Iowa State in the championship game. The senior also blocked a season-high four shots against the Cyclones. Moore ranks third on the team averaging 14.6 points per game and leads with 11 blocks.

Greta Burry, Akron, Forward
Senior – Lakewood, Ohio/St. joseph Academy
Senior Greta Burry led Akron in scoring on Nov. 22 against Eastern Kentucky to help the Zips earn their second win of the season. Burry scored a season-high 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor and grabbed three rebounds.
Cierra Dillard, Buffalo, Guard
Junior – Rochester, NY/Gates Chili
Junior guard Cierra Dillard was a key factor in the Bulls unbeaten 2-0 weekend at the San Juan Shootout in Daytona Beach, FL as she helped UB prevail over Big Ten foe Nebraska and ACC member Clemson. The Rochester, NY native was able to average 15.5 points, 5.0 steals, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists across the two wins over Power 5 foes. On Thanksgiving Day, Dillard exploded offensively after filling in at the point for injured guard Stephanie Reid as she went for a Buffalo career-high 25 points, six steals, three rebounds and three assists across 36 minutes of work. Dillard was all over the floor and took over the game in the second half as she went 7-for-16 from the floor, 5-for-11 from behind the arc, a season-high for three-pointers made, and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe. In the second game of the tournament against Clemson, Dillard wasn't able to get it going offensively but still affected the game in many ways. The junior finished the 20-point victory over Clemson with six points, a season-high six rebounds, four steals and three assists in 31 minutes of action.
Cierra Hooks, Ohio, Guard
Freshman – Dayton, Ohio/Thurgood Marshall
Freshman guard Cierra Hooks has been a spark for the Bobcats off the bench this past week, helping Ohio to a 1-1 week. Overall on the week, Hooks averaged 13.5 points a game, grabbing 5.5 rebounds a contest, dishing out 1.5 assists and registering 4.0 steals in two games. She was shot .428 from the field in 30.0 minutes off the bench. She also registered the game-winning basket against Marshall. On Nov. 22 at Marshall, Hooks was instrumental in the Bobcats' 54-52 comeback victory against The Herd. With under 40 seconds to go, the Bobcats were down by six - then led by Hooks, would score eight points to win the game, 54-52, in regulation. Hooks would be the one to win the game down the stretch, when with four seconds to go, Hooks would steal the ball on the inbound and get the game-winning layup with .3 seconds remaining. Overall in the game, Hooks scored 10 points, going 5-of-13 from the field in 28 minutes off the bench. She would also register a career-high five steals and have one assist. Then on Nov. 25 against 25th-ranked Michigan, Hooks would tie her career-high with 17 points, going 7-of-15 from the field, grabbing a team-high seven rebounds and grabbing three steals and one block.
Jordan Korinek, Kent State, Forward
Senior – Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary
Jordan Korinek averaged 20.0 points and shot better than 70 percent (22-for-31) in Kent State’s three games against challenging competition at the Play4Kay Showcase in Las Vegas. In the Golden Flashes’ first game of the tournament against #14 Stanford, Korinek scored 21 points and made a career-high five three-point field goals in a matchup against Lisa Leslie Award Watch List member Alanna Smith. Her back-to-back three-point field goals in the second quarter gave the Cardinal their largest deficit (25-20) of the tournament until overtime of the championship game. Korinek matched her career-high with three blocked shots and added 14 points on 6-for-7 shooting against Mid-Major Poll #7 Gonzaga. The senior made sure Kent State returned home with a win by scoring a game-high 25 points against Memphis. Korinek is just the 15th Golden Flash to score 1,300 points and has 1,301 in her career.
Kaayla McIntyre, Toledo, Center
Junior – Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy
Junior Kaayla McIntyre scored a season-high 19 points, to go along with five boards and a season-best four rejections in Toledo's 68-50 victory over unbeaten Dayton on Wednesday. McIntyre shot an efficient 8-of-15 from the field and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe in 27 minutes against the Flyers to help UT run in home winning streak to nine-consecutive games. McIntyre and the Rockets dominated the low blocks vs. UD, as they finished with a 32-20 edge in points in the paint. The Toledo native has now scored in double figures in three of the first four games in 2017-18.
Danielle Minott, Eastern Michigan, Guard
R-Junior – Miami, FL/Miami Country Day
Redshirt junior Danielle Minott stuffed the stat sheet while leading the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team at the LMU Thanksgiving Classic, Nov. 24-25, in Los Angeles. Minott averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebound, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game en route to all-tournament honors. In EMU's first game of the weekend, Minott fell just short of a double-double, scoring nine points and grabbing a team-high and career-high 10 rebounds. She also added four assists and five steals in the game. Her five swipes tied for the most by an Eagle this season. The Miami, Fla. native closed out the tournament with a bang, totaling 16 points, a career-high five assists, and three rebounds.
Breanna Mobley, Western Michigan, Forward
Junior – Lansing, Mich./Lansing Waverly
Western Michigan's junior Breanna Mobley led the Broncos in its past three games, averaging 19.7 points and 7.7 rebounds at the ultra-competitive Florida Gulf Coast Showcase. The forward scored in double figures in all three games including a season high-26 points against Rutgers, who is recently receiving votes in the AP Top-25 Poll. For the tournament, she shot at a 54.1 percent rate including 10-for-15 against the Scarlet Knights. Mobley also notched her 21st career double-double and second of the season against Rutgers. Against East Tennessee State, she tallied 17 points for her fifth double figure game of the early season. Mobley was also solid from the line shooting 73.1 percent (19-of-25).
Carly Santoro, Bowling Green, Guard
Junior – Bellevue, Ohio/Bellevue
Bowling Green junior guard Carly Santoro was named tournament MVP as the Falcons went 2-0 and won the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament in Boca Raton, Fla. Santoro had a pair of double-doubles, averaging 16.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per game to lead the team in both categories. She also had 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per outing, leading the team in blocks, tying for the BG lead in steals and ranking second in assists. On Friday, Santoro had a team-leading 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds as the Falcons topped Norfolk State, 59-50. Santoro added two assists, two steals and a blocked shot in 38 minutes of action in that win. Then, on Saturday afternoon, she again had 16 points to lead the Brown and Orange, and pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds, a career best and the most by a Falcon since January of 2014. For the second-straight day, Santoro had two assists, two steals and a block. She averaged 37.5 minutes per game in the win. Santoro now has five double-doubles in six games this season, and has a total of 10 double-doubles in her career. On the season, she is averaging 15.0 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.0 spg and 0.3 bpg. She leads the team in scoring, rebounding and steals, is tied for the blocks lead and is second in assists. The Falcons are 5-1 on the season, heading into a home game vs. Valparaiso Tuesday night.
Mikayla Voigt, Northern Illinois, Guard
Junior – Slinger, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran
The only Huskie to finish in double figures in scoring in all three games for NIU last week, Mikayla Voigt led NIU to a 2-1 week, averaging 17 points, 5.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds as NIU scored victories over Chicago State and UTSA. The Huskie junior shot 42.1 percent from the field, including 41.2 from three-point territory, hitting 12 of her 16 made field goals from beyond the arc. Voigt began her week tying her career-high in scoring with a 19-point, nine-assist night in NIU's 80-59 win at Chicago State. She also tallied five steals in the game as well. In the first game of the 2017 UTSA Thanksgiving Classic, Voigt tallied 13 points and dished out four assists in NIU's 69-55 win over UTSA. In the tournament finale, Voigt scored 19 points in a losing effort to Lamar. She also added four assists and two steals against the Cardinals.
