Cross Country Academic All-MAC Teams Announced

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2017 Men's and Women's Cross Country Academic All-MAC teams Tuesday. A total of 52 student-athletes were named to the men's team while 82 student-athletes were named to the women's team.

Bowling Green and Central Michigan each led the men's team with eight, while Miami led the women's squad with 10 student-athletes.
 
Akron’s Nick Stricklen, Ball State’s Brooke Talhelm, BGSU’s Allison Holahan and Nicholas Voth, Eastern Michigan’s Austin Wicker, Kent State’s Morgan Bing, Miami’s Taylor Malchow, Maegan Murphy, Northern Illinois’ Ericka Hibser, Ohio’s Alyssa Atkinson and Brady McBride and Western Michigan’s Brittney Hall and Haley Ritsema recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
