Tim Rooney, Kent State—Sophomore, Columbus, Ohio (St. Charles High School)

 
Kent State sophomore Tim Rooney went 5-0 on the weekend at the Journeymen Duals and the Journeymen Classic in upstate New York.  Kent State defeated Virginia 20-18 and Hofstra 26-12 with the help of victories from Rooney in each dual.  The next day, Rooney placed first in his pool at the Journeymen Classic, going 3-0 with a tech fall.  An 11-5 win over Virginia Tech’s Andrew Merhholz gave Rooney a 2-0 weekend mark against ACC opponents.  On the season, Rooney is 12-1 with two pins, two tech falls and two major decisions.  He is 4-0 in dual meets helping the Flashes to a 5-0 start.

Jordan Atienza, Central Michigan—Junior, Livonia, Mich. (Franklin High School)
 
Central Michigan junior Jordan Atienza placed first at 197 pounds on Saturday at the Eastern Michigan Open with a 3-0 record. Atienza opened with a 6-3 win over Josh Roetman of Navy, and then defeated Kellan Stout of Pitt, 6-2.  In the final match, he topped Stevie Cervantes of Navy, 6-2, who was ranked 15th by InterMat.
 
Quinton Rosser, Northern Illinois—Senior, Cincinnati, Ohio (Moeller High School)
 
Northern Illinois senior Quinton Rosser wrestled to a third-place finish in the Eastern Michigan Open at the 174-weight class.  Highlighting Rosser’s day was a 5-3 decision win over No. 8 ranked Drew Hughes of Michigan State. In the third-place bout, Rosser defeated North Carolina’s Devin Kane by a 9-7 decision. Rosser also defeated Colton Carroll of Cleveland State 12-2 on a major decision. 
 
Cameron Kelly, Ohio—Junior, Bellbrook, Ohio (Bellbrook High School)
 
Ohio junior Cameron Kelly took first-place in the 133-class to mark his first tournament win on the year at the Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open on Sunday (Nov. 12) in Vestal, N.Y. Kelly opened the competition with a win by fall over Columbia's Christopher Scorese in 1:07. In round two, the junior would record another win by fall over Harvard's Lukus Stricker in 1:37. In the quarterfinals, Kelly would post a 15-7 major decision victory over Cornell's Noah Baughman. Kelly would then produce a 16-0 technical fall victory over Buffalo's Derek Spann to make it to the finals where he would face Vito Arujau. Kelly would earn the first-place victory in a 6-5 decision. Kelly is currently ranked 20th in the 133-class in the NCAA according to InterMat rankings which were released on Tuesday (Nov. 14).
