Oxford, Ohio - The Eastern Michigan Men’s Cross Country team captured their eighth consecutive Mid-American Conference Championship on Saturday at the Miami Cross Country Course in Oxford, Ohio. The Eagles took home the MAC title with a score of 24 points.
EMU’s Hlynur Andresson secured the 2017 men’s individual title with a finishing time of 24:30.0. Andresson was followed in second place by teammate Lahsene Bouchikhi (24.32.8), while Bowling Green's Noah Schaub took home third place in a time of 24.35.0.
Eastern Michigan’s John Goodridge was voted MAC Men’s Coach of the Year. This was the 12th time Coach Goodridge was selected by the league’s head coaches to receive this honor. He also holds the record in the conference as winningest head coach with 13 championships to his name.
Teams will now have about two weeks to prepare for the next race, the 2017 NCAA Regionals on Friday, November 10th.
