COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS NATIONAL TEAM OF THE WEEK RELEASE

AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron men's soccer redshirt sophomore Skye Harter (Copley, Ohio) earned recognition for his play this past week as College Soccer News tabbed him to its National Team of the Week on Monday, Oct. 16.

Harter turned in a strong week for the Zips registering a goal and three assists en route to sparking Akron to a pair of victories.

In the Zips' 2-0 win over Cleveland State on Oct. 10, Harter got the scoring started for Akron just 52 seconds into the match corralling a defensive miscue by the Vikings in the box and delivering his first goal of the season, a game-winner, to give the Zips a 1-0 advantage.

In Akron's 3-1 league triumph past SIU Edwardsville on Oct. 13, Harter earned assists on each of the Zips' three goals in the victory. The three assists marked the first time since senior Sam Gainford (Liverpool, England) posted a trio of helpers against Ohio State on Sept. 16, 2015, that a Zips' player has record three assists in a game.

On the season, Harter owns a goal and a team-high five assists on six shots, including four on goal.
