Gary Hogeboom, Central Michigan (Football)
An outstanding Chippewa quarterback who played at Central Michigan from 1976-79 and went on to a 10-year career in the National Football League. Hogeboom spent six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, three with the Indianapolis Colts, and one with the Phoenix Cardinals.
Hogeboom was a third-round draft pick in 1980 of the Dallas Cowboys. He led the Chippewas to a MAC title in 1979 and was named the conference's "Offensive Player of the Year" along with earning first team honors. Hogeboom completed 208-of-355 career passes for 3,088 yards and still stands seventh in total offense with 4,167 yards.
The Central Michigan football program was 19-2-1 during the two years he was a starter. A product of Grand Rapids Northview High School, Hogeboom finished his NFL career with 9,436 passing yards and 49 TDs while completing 743-of-1,325 passes.
